Bodegas CASTO PEQUEÑO Castilla y León Cotoval VdT Castilla y León Type: Red Wine Variety: 100% Tempranillo Vineyards: Selection from plots located in DO Ribera del Duero and DO Toro

  • Soils: It is a mix of sand consisting of silt and clay which alternates with layers of chalky limestone.
  • Weather conditions: Continental weather. Cold winter and extremely hot and dry summer with important differences in temperature between day and night. Winemaking process: Harvest was done at the end of October. Macerated on skins for 12 days with several pumping ups. Alcoholic fermentation in vats by means of controlled temperatures of 26º-28º C. Aged 6 months in barrels of American oaks where the malolactic fermentation takes place.
  • Tasting notes: Cherry, deep ruby red color with bluish hues. Complex and intense bouquet of strawberries, raspberries, and berries. Oaky scent. A rounded and balanced taste. Fruit and spices dominate the aftertaste. Pleasant tannin. Soft and Delicate. Oaky tasting.
  • Pairing: Excellent accompaniment to pâtes, foies and red meats. Service temperature: 15-º17º C.
